RULES for the WORLD HPV CHAMPIONSHIPS 2006
Allegre, 5 August - 11 August 2006
|
VEHICLE CLASSES :
- Only 2 vehicle classes will be held : fully-faired vehicles and partially-or-unfaired vehicles.
We consider that the contestants who choose to compete without a tail fairing have made the choice of the light-weight and can rival the partially-faired vehicles.
- A Multiple-person vehicle category may be held if 5 contestants are registered.
RIDER CLASSES :
- Sure, 6 classes :
Male Fully-faired
Male Partially-or-Unfaired
Male Veteran (>49 year old)
Male Junior (<19 year old)
Female Unfaired
Female Veteran (>49 year old)
- Each class will lead to a title of World Champion 2006 and a podium will be held with gold, silver and bronz medals.
- Optionnal, with a minimum of 3 contestants, there could be 4 more classes :
° Female Fully-Faired
° Female Junior (<19 year old)
° Male Veteran Fully-Faired(>49 year old)
° Female Veteran Fully-Faired(>49 year old)
- Each class would lead to a title of World Champion 2006 and a podium may be held.
- Optionnal, with a minimum of 5 contestants :
° Multiple-person vehicle
- This class would lead to a title of World Champion 2006 and a podium would be held.
POINTS :
- To determine an overall World Champion, points will be attributed to riders for each race.
The person who totalises the maximum points per category will be awarded the title of World Champion 2006.
- For fully-faired category : contestants will win points in the 3 speed races (200 m, 1km, timetrial).
They can take part to the other races but they will not get points.
- For unfaired category : contestants will win points in the 6 races, to the condition that they use the same bike.
If they decide to change bikes for different races, then they will not get points.
Points per position will be given along the following formula (to be confirmed): (number of contestants - position + 1).
|
Exemple: if 128 contestants to the 200m
then 1st : 128 points
2nd : 127 points
3rd : 126 points
... : ...
last : 1 point
|
Exemple : if 97 contestants to the timetrial
1st : 97 points
2nd : 96 points
3rd : 95 points
... : ...
last : 1 point
|
The rule is "1 place = 1 point".
Exemple: If, at the end, Enrick has won 284 points and John 280 points, it means that Enrick has been 4 places ahead of John over the 6 races.
Points as bonus will be given to the 5 first riders of each category:
1st : +30 points
2nd : +20 points
3rd : +15 points
4th : +12 points
5th : + 9 points
Exemple: if Sylvia is 1st to a race and 3rd to another , she will win a bonus of 45 points, which is better than being 2nd to two races : only 40 points.
|
SAFETY :
-All contestants take part in races at their own
risk and are responsible for controling over their bicycle for steering and braking.
-Your vehicle must have a chainring guard (unless
it's hidden by a fairing) and no dangerous elements sticking out,
e.g. open tube ends.
-You must wear a
rigid cycling helmet, even in fully-faired vehicle.
-For the 2 road races, the road will be opened to other vehicles, in the sens of the race; you must then
obey the French trafic regulations (drive only on the
right lane, allow others to overtake, etc). Guards will be at corners to signal the race but they cannot stop any car who would force the way. Finally, you are responsible of accidents you make.
The organizers will control these requirements and may choose to disqualify your vehicle.
